The first Fine City Soup event in Norwich saw Catherine Gray, of Cup-O-T Wellness and Therapy Services, take away a bowl of cash worth £305 after presenting her community project to an audience at Silver Road Community Centre.
Catherine (pictured holding the pot of cash) competed with three other local, not-for-profit organisations vying for funding: Mini Donks, Slow Theatre and Norfolk Disability Pride.
Catherine said: ‘The cash will go towards our Cup-O-T therapy van. The van enables us to provide therapy at convenient locations for young people in a private and welcoming space.’
The evening was organised by Fine City Soup, which is part of the international, ‘Soup’ movement. Organiser Kim Weston (pictured far right) said: ‘This was our first event and we are thrilled that it went so well. People came, made generous donations and enjoyed soup and bread donated by our supporters. In the end the audience voted for Cup-O-T to take the pot of cash but everyone had a great evening.’
