Give Norwich a Boost:
Get Social, Raise Money, Support Your Community

Make a Pitch!
Fine City Soup is a micro-funding opportunity for local community and charitable groups like yours. Please read through what you need to do in order to make a proposal to bid for the money collected by Fine City Soup.
What happens at a Fine City Soup?
People get together to listen to various community groups (that’s you!) make a short presentation about their group and outline the reasons why they need the funding available. Then everybody will be served with food, eat and mingle with others and vote for the proposal that they want the money to go to. At the end of the evening the winner of the vote is announced and they walk away with the money.
What kind of proposals are we looking for?
We only have three conditions. Firstly you should be a non-profit organisation or an individual working on a community project. Secondly your proposal should have a community benefit for the people of Norwich in some way. Lastly we’d like you to come back to a future Fine City Soup and let us all know how you’re getting on. That’s it.
We will take the first four proposals that we receive which we are confident meet our three criteria. If we have two proposals that seem quite similar we may contact the proposers and ask if one of them would like to wait until the next Soup, so they are not in competition with each other, but that's up to them.
We are doing it this way so that we, the organisers, are not making any judgements - we want to leave that to the voters!
If a pitcher's proposal is not accepted this time we will ask if they would like to be entered for a future Soup event.
Making a pitch during a Fine City Soup
If you are chosen to make a pitch then you turn up on the night of the Soup. Your pitch must be up to four minutes long without any electronic or visual aids of any kind. So no flip charts and no Powerpoint. At the end of your pitch you’ll be asked to take four questions from the floor. Whilst everybody is eating you can mingle with them to drum up support for your organisation.
