About SOUP

 

SOUP is a worldwide project that began in Detroit, USA in 2010. There are now over 60 similar projects in the UK. SOUP has come to Norwich in the form of Fine City Soup.

Who are we?

A small group of local people who would like to make collaborative, social events and projects happen and who have been inspired by the SOUP movement.

​

But what exactly is SOUP?

You come along and give a small donation, enjoy a bowl of fresh-made soup and listen to people pitch for funding for their community project, then vote for which one you like. Winner takes all the door money.

But it’s so much more.

• It’s a social event where like-minded people of all ages gather and share.

• It offers a platform for creative people to get their ideas heard.

• It encourages positive action and change.

• It gets a whole lot of good new things rolling.

• It’s an opportunity to participate in the community.

That’s not bad for a simple bowl of soup!

Fine City Soup is funded by entirely donations and is absolutely not for profit. No one gets any door money except the winning pitcher!
